Job Description

Fixed Term Contract - Full TimeWere currently seeking Plymouth based Laboratory Technicians to work within a high output diagnostics laboratory environment as part of the UKs NHS Test and Trace programme.As well as playing a vital role in supporting societys return to a more normal way of life by helping to break the chains of COVID-19 transmission, you will also gain invaluable experience and exposure to some of the countrys most highly skilled individualsin the scientific community.This represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to go above and beyond to support public health, while also extending your already accomplished technical skills and positioning your Scientific career for further success and growth.Job PurposeA laboratory technician is part of a clinical support team whose purpose is to provide timely and accurate high quality scientific information that will assist service users from the hospital and community, in the establishment of a clinical diagnosis.The poster holder will use practical skills to carry out tasks associated with the pre-analytical preparation of specimens within the COVID Hub Laboratory. Full training and supervision will be provided, cross training between teams is also available wheretime and staffing permitsEssential Requirements

Desirable Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a scientific, technological, manufacturing, or process driven environment
In return: As well as a competitive rate of pay of £12.82 / hour (with an uplift applied for nights to £15.64/Hr).Youll receive comprehensive training on relevant lab procedures and equipment during induction. This role works on a shift pattern of 8am-8pm days and 8pm-8am nights. With 4 days on 4 days off. This will change monthly. Therefore, a month of days and a month of nights.You will also be joining a diverse and hugely welcoming team.
