Job Description

Synthetic Organic Chemist— RadiochemistryOur client who is based in Essex, is a world leader in providing custom radiochemistry and isotope labelling services. They provide a variety of analytical testing services across multiple industries, to create a safer environment for us all. They have experienced organic growth over several years and operate internationally over hundreds of laboratories.They are offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled synthetic organic chemist, who is looking for a challenging career in isotope chemistry.AccountabilitiesThe chemist will be accountable for the synthesis and purification of isotopically labelled, biologically active compounds that are used in regulatory studies.Experience in working with radioisotopes would be an advantage but this is not essential as a extensive training program will be provided and incumbents will be aided by professional, accomplished isotope chemists.Candidate Profile

  • Ideally you will have a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or a first degree in chemistry with a minimum of two years relevant industrial experience within a synthetic organic chemistry environment
  • You will need to have a broad understanding of organic reactions and derive enjoyment of working at the bench.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a strong background of achievement and the ability to apply your practical skills.
  • You will be able to work both individually or as a team to deliver results to tight deadlines.
  • You will possess good communication and interpersonal , along with a customer-focused approach.
