Job Title: Senior Service Charge AccountantEssex/Hertfordshire Borders - Hybrid working pattern, 3 days from home, 2 days in the office.Salary: £40,000 - £45,000Job Summary: As a Service Charge Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our team, managing the financial aspects of service charge accounts. This position requires an experienced Service Charge Accountant or Finance Manager. The role involves preparingservice charge accounts, resolving queries, coordinating with external accountants, and analysing handover information.Responsibilities & Duties:* Review and process movements of expenditures between Cost Centres.* Audit income to ensure accurate charges to leaseholders.* Prepare service charge calculations, including balance sheet reconciliation and detailed P&L analysis.* Maintain accuracy in financial data filing systems.* Collaborate with the team to support property accounting.* Prepare monthly and/or quarterly reporting.* Prepare service charge accounts and client reports for key clients and complex sites.Qualifications & Skills:* Knowledge of residential property management and service charge accounts.* Experience with relevant commercial property and service charge accounting.* Familiarity with property systems like QUBE, YARDI, MRI, TRAMPS.* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.* Self-motivated and proactive.* Team player.Desired:* Experience in preparing residential service charge accounts.* Ability to analyze complex data for various audiences.* Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT, etc.).* Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.* Working knowledge of property management systems.* Adaptability to new IT systems.Above standard pension, 33 days holiday, private medical and a host of other benefits accompany this role.
