Job Description

Operations Manager - PackagingLocation: EssexSalary: DOECompany: One of the UKs leading packaging and labels manufacturers.Role: To oversee the planning of production and ensure that the business is running efficiently and providing a quality product and service that meets the expectations and needs of its clients.

  • Oversee production planning, liaise between departments and ensure the business is adequately resourced.
  • Management of Production Schedule resources to consistently meet the output targets of the business.
  • Management of work output to ensure the business operates efficiently, meets the requirements of its clients and operates within set budgets.
  • Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve production goals.
  • Managing budgets and costs effectively.
  • Implementation and management of projects, systems, policies and procedures relating to business operations.
  • Line Manager for Production Staff dealing with all HR issues and ensuring members of staff are compliant with Labelnet culture.
  • Liaising with other team members and senior management team to provide feedback on how operations are affecting the business.
  • Management of Quality Assurance Systems (BRC, ISO), Site tidiness and organisation and all Health & Safety related matters.
  • Measure: BRC / ISO Annual Audits & Regular Internal Audits.
  • Managing Projects and driving continuous improvement throughout the business.
  • Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency.
    • Requirements:
  • Proven experience in an operations manager role
  • Experience and knowledge of flexo and digital print processes
  • Strong print / packaging / labels background - ideally running print operations
  • Can manage personnel effectively
  • Experience running CI initiatives - lean manufacturing, six sigma, 5S as well as ISO procedures, health and safety etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work to tight deadlines under pressure
