DescriptionAn opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Tooling Design Engineer to join our mechanical engineering team based at Wickford.Job Title: Junior Mechanical Tooling Design EngineerJob Summary: As a Junior Mechanical Tooling Design Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of tools, fixtures, and equipment used in the manufacturing process. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functionalteams to ensure that the tools and equipment are designed to meet quality, efficiency, and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Tooling Design: Collaborate with senior engineers to create detailed tooling designs, including fixtures, jigs, clamps, and other specialized equipment required for manufacturing processes.CAD Modelling: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models of tooling and mechanical components. Ensure that designs are accurate and conform to specifications.Analysis and Testing: Perform structural and functional analysis to assess the integrity and performance of the tooling designs. Conduct tests and simulations to identify potential issues and make necessary adjustments.Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials for tooling components, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.Cost Estimation: Participate in cost estimation for tooling projects, helping to keep projects within budget constraints.Documentation: Maintain detailed records of design specifications, changes, and project progress.
