Job Description

Job Title: Head of MarketingDoes the idea of leading an agile marketing team within a heritage but rapidly innovating foodie brand siud sound appeallingAre you passionate about creating both local and international brand strategyAbout the Role:Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Head of Marketing is responsible for driving the brand and product development plans. This involves creating a comprehensive strategy for both the UK and key Export markets, encompassing B2B and B2C marketing andcommunications across traditional and digital channels. This role offers an opportunity to work with a heritage yet innovative brand, catering to professionals and home cooks alike, while also providing exposure to global marketing planning and activation.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a clear brand strategy for the UK and Export markets, ensuring adherence to budget control, regular reviews (ROI’s and clear KPI’s), and course correction.
  • Collaborate with the NPD team to ensure an innovation pipeline is established and activated in alignment with agreed plans.
  • Work closely with local markets and International Marketing to ensure a consistent global brand strategy, essence, and positioning, following Maldon Salt brand guidelines.
  • Lead the development and execution of all Brand and Product launch marketing activities, utilising insights to create initiatives that drive retail and Horeca channel growth.
  • Drive internal focus on data analysis and validation for decision-making, working with the Finance Director regarding analyst capability.
  • Lead the development of the brand’s ATL/hero campaigns and oversee the creation of relevant assets based on consumer and professional insight.
  • Oversee the implementation of a new digital strategy covering PR, social media, and influencer engagement to enhance global engagement and conversion rates.
  • Lead the strategy and manage the implementation of events, brand partnerships, activations, and sponsorships.
  • Support the Global MS website, ensuring brand presence and consistency for key International markets.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Manage suppliers and creative agencies, building strong relationships to ensure excellent service and value for money.
  • Effectively manage the annual budget, ensuring visibility, control, and KPI reviews through internal systems and processes.
  • Conduct measurement and evaluation of key activations, providing recommendations for future enhancements and defining global best practices.
  • Coach and develop direct reports, including setting annual objectives, conducting reviews, and addressing recruitment needs.
  • Work with the Sales team to scope trade marketing plans for the HORECA channel and oversee their execution within key regional and national accounts.
  • Align with Sales to develop Retail marketing campaigns to drive in-store activation for the brand.
Skillset Required:
  • Extensive brand marketing experience, preferably in the Food industry (FMCG/consumer goods considered).
  • Proficiency in core marketing disciplines: strategy, creative, events, PR & Copywriting, production, social media, brand partnerships, advertising, and sponsorship.
  • Ability to draft compelling copy for various channels, tailoring content for different audiences.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Deadline-oriented with attention to detail, understanding customer and/or consumer needs.
  • Additional languages advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Passion for food and robust brand and heritage understanding.
