Our client being a successful MGA Insurer based in the Essex area is looking to recruit a Head of Underwriting. The business is split into three core classes of insurance. commercial Financial Professions and Accident & Health.The role entails the development of all three commercial and financial professions products namely General Liability, Commercial Combined, Property Owners and Retail Package, Professional Indemnity, D&O, and Schemes. This will consist of reviewing underwriting strategy, updating guides, overseeing a team of underwriters for training, peer review and technical referral amendments of policy wordings, creation of new products and systems development.Will be expected to show a proven track record of successful product development, including involvement in the development of software platforms for quote and buy, full policy life cycle and reporting. Underwrite both new and renewal business, run monthly internal audits, oversee external audits, provide statistics to insurers as required and oversee binder renewals.Must have a proven track record in Underwriting Management and experience in handling bespoke underwriting systems, liaising with system providers and developers to improve/enhance the quality of systems and operational efficienciesThere is a very friendly and social working environment with a very low employee turnover.
