Job Description

Job Advertisement: Finance Systems Business AnalystLocation: Essex (Hybrid with occasional on-site visits required)Contract: 6-12 monthsRate: £450-£550/day outside IR35Are you a seasoned Business Analyst with a passion for driving transformational change within local authorities We are currently seeking a Finance Systems Business Analyst in Essex for an exciting 6-12 month contract. This role offers a competitive rateof £450-£550/day outside IR35 and will involve occasional on-site visits.The Project: The projects main focus is to replace outdated and fragmented finance systems with a new cloud-based platform. This initiative aims to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial oversight across our councils. As a FinanceSystems Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role within our Shared Services Programme, collaborating closely with the Project Manager and key stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.Responsibilities:

  • Deliver design options to eliminate resilience risks and futureproof services, including identifying opportunities for process sharing.
  • Utilise empirical evidence and trends to identify potential roles and build high-performing teams.
  • Champion customer-led processes leveraging automation and digitisation for improved service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with services to rationalise and improve existing processes, challenging traditional methods to evolve service delivery.
  • Prepare and facilitate information gathering exercises to gain insights into customer journeys and business processes.
  • Accurately document process changes and data flows, updating project timelines and reports diligently.
  • Provide system procedure documentation and support end-users through training sessions.
Requirements:
  • Previous demonstrable experience working on similar financial system implementations as a Business Analyst in comparable roles and organisations (mandatory).
  • Experience as a Business Analyst or system administrator on E-Financials (One Advanced) is desirable.
  • Experience delivering change within an organisation is desirable.
  • Accounting experience or qualification is desirable.
Skills:
  • Subject matter expertise in finance systems, with a focus on resilience and futureproofing.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach to identify and address challenges in processes and systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Design sustainable support models for future solution maintenance.
  • Support the Project Manager in wider implementation activities and other assigned projects.
