Job Description

CNC Miller - Setter, OperatorSalary to £36,500 PA - Plus Overtime RatesLocation: In the Colchester - Tendring area.Due to continued growth and an increasing order book, we are currently for skilled CNC Millers to join this successful, established specialist precision engineering company to set, operate multi axis CNC Milling Machines.We have vacancies on both the 4-day, day shift and also on the 4-night, night shift.Main Responsibilities:

  • Setting & operating multi axis CNC Mills as efficiently as possible.
  • Report any machine defects or breakdowns to line supervisor.
  • Work to Company instructions and drawings.
CNC Miller - Key Tasks:
  • Set CNC machine to operate at maximum output within safety guidelines.
  • Carry out basic maintenance of machine, i.e. cleaning, filling with oil/coolant.
  • Deburring of comps. in-cycle where possible.
  • Be able to inspect own work.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety.
Skills and Attributes Required:
  • Being able to do off-line programming is advantageous.
  • Able to read drawings and relevant information.
  • Good housekeeping and health and safety procedures.
Qualifications or knowledge Required:
  • Able to identify tooling and working methods to operate machine competently.
  • Good knowledge of machine shop practices in milling, drilling and boring.
  • Knowledge of CNC G codes to effectively operate machine.
  • A recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship would be advantageous.
We also would be interested in speaking with Sliding Head Lathe setter, operators, toolmakers or Manual Machinist who would like to learn / move onto CNC Mills.Salary guide:Day Shift: £16.00 - £18.00 p/hr + Overtime ratesOrNight Shift: £21.00 - £24.00 p/hr + Overtime rates (Monday to Thursday night)Good hours availableHours:Day Shift: Monday - Wednesday 7.30am to 6.00pm & Thursday 7.30am - 5.00pmLocation:Tendring area, North-East EssexPlease bear in mind that you may not hear from us straight away.
