Child Psychotherapist, Band 7Looked After & Adopted Children’s TeamBexley Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)Permanent/Part Time: 18.75 hours per week(days worked negotiated on appointment) We are seeking to recruit a qualified child psychotherapist to join the CAMHS team working with children and young people with emotional, psychological and mental health difficulties who are Adopted or Looked After Children.The post holder will provide highly specialist child and adolescent psychoanalytical psychotherapy assessment, brief medium and long-term treatment to children and adolescents and offer consultation, advice and training (where appropriate) to other professionals involved in the child’s care. You will act as a care coordinator in a multi-disciplinary team which includes; social work clinical psychology and child psychotherapy with access to psychiatry. You will be supervised by a Senior Child Psychotherapist and the LAC Team Leader. You will be based at the Park Crescent Erith, (next to Erith Hospital), Northumberland Heath, Erith, Kent, DA83EEThe post is open to newly qualified, psychoanalytically trained child psychotherapists and those with post training experience in a child mental health multidisciplinary context. You must be a full member of Association of Child Psychotherapists. You should also have experience of relevant patient groups (i.e. LAC and adopted children) presenting high levels of complexity and difficulty.Bexley CAMHS is a friendly, busy and thriving service, rated as ‘outstanding’ and ‘accessible’ in the last Joint Area Review. The Child Psychotherapy Service is creative, energetic and friendly. This position will offer an excellent opportunity for a child psychotherapist to consolidate their training and/or post qualifying experience within a supportive and stimulating environment. Regular clinical supervision will be provided to enhance and maintain the Child Psychotherapist’s core psychoanalytic skills. There are opportunities within the team and service for innovative work and we are keen to enable clinicians to develop job plans to encourage development of skills and interests. The Child Psychotherapy discipline promotes wider psychoanalytic thinking through various cpd events including workshops, a journal club, annual borough wide Oxleas Child Psychotherapy Conference, and encouragement to access to wider CPD opportunities as well as maintain links with the ACP.Bexley CAMHS is situated in a newly refurbished building at Park Crescent, Erith DA8 3EE in August 2019 which offers a bright and welcoming space for children, YP, families and staff. Erith lies on the south bank of the River Thames on the border of London and Kent . The town centre is a short walk away from the clinic with access to a range of local amenities including shops, restaurants, theatre and good transport links. Access to the main site at Park Crescent CYP Service can be by car from London, Kent and East Surrey or public transport. Trains are available from London mainline including Cannon Street, Charing Cross, London Bridge, Victoria or Waterloo East to Erith or Barnehurst stations.
