Job Description

Operations Manager - HorticultureNorth London Up to £45kOur client is an RHS Gold Award winning garden design team based in North London.As they grow and their environmentally sound designs, landscaping and planting becomes ever more in demand, they are working with us here at Better People to source an experienced manager to oversee their day to day operations.This is a new role so needs someone who works well in a dynamic growing business.The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of the landscaping and gardening teams, will initiate and oversee the implementation of multiple projects, manage timelines and budgets and all with a shared commitment to their passion for environmental stewardship, conservation and sustainability.Ideal Candidates for this role will be:

  • Experienced in a similar managerial/supervisory role in a horticultural/landscaping business
  • Interested in and committed to conservation and sustainability
  • Have great leadership and communication skills - able to lead by example
  • Will be enthusiastic, proactive and flexible
  • Drivers with clean driving licence
  • Be passionate about engaging and supporting other garden designers, horticulture and mental health charities and nature inspired architects towards a common goal.
  • Able to make suggestions and introduce ideas for efficiency
  • Will be comfortable in customer facing roles and able to communicate the company message credibly and with passion.
  • Be up to date with the general garden and landscape design industry
  • Be credible and effective leaders on site, in the van or in the office.
  • Will be able to demonstrate flexibility as the business grows.
  • Prepared to be "hands on" when needed - getting dirty!
  • Be IT literate and comfortable working with technology (Trello, Asana, Pages, MS Office)
  • You will be joining a committed passionate and high achieving team at a time of growth.
