Based in Leicester, an attractive salary is on offer with company car, pension, discounted healthcare options and huge staff discounts on branded and non-branded products!AsCategory Buyer, you will be reporting into the Purchasing Manager working within the Commercial Services team with 5 other Buyers, Supplier Analyst and Purchasing Assistant. You will develop innovation, manage stakeholders throughout thebusiness and engage with board level directors.The role ofCategory Buyerwill encompass sourcing potential future suppliers and monitoring current supplier performance measuring against SLAs and KPIs using a scorecard system attending regular reviews with the suppliers and coordinatingwith internal stakeholders. In addition, you will take responsibility for preparing tender documents and assessments of current suppliers which will include the preparation of supplier appraisals, obtaining pricing and negotiation of these.The preparation of contracts and SLAs will be your responsibility, ensuring established KPIs and associated penalties for non-compliance are in place. You will be instrumental in establishing good internal relations with stakeholders managing expectations andputting forward new ideas to benefit the business based on market research and competitor analysis.We are keen to hear from applicants with previous experience as aCategory Buyer or Purchasing, ideally from a logistics, retail distribution or packaging background although this is not essential.Supplier management, contract managementand tenderingknowledge is advantageous. You will be a positive person who builds relationships quickly, is collaborative but strong willed and structured in your approach with the ability to spin lots of plates!
