Job Description

This is an exciting role created due to the current person progressing within the current business therefore creating a new opportunity to fill this position. To be suitable for this role you will be a natural leader, someone who has a grasp of project managementbut also strong marketing skills with a good business acumen. This role is to work in an Engineering environment and would suit candidates who have worked alongside both Mechanical and Electrical design engineers.Start: ASAPLocation: Ely, CambridgeshireHours: 39 hours per weekSalary: Circa £45,000 - £55,000Benefits: 26 days annual leave (3 allocated for Christmas shutdown) Private Medical Cover, Life Assurance, Company Pension SchemeThis role would be ideal for candidates who have experience within managing Engineering projects, specifically on a grand scale. You will be confident in working alongside design engineers ensuring that customer projects are delivered on time within budget.You will have a technical background and be confident in reading Engineering drawings with demonstrable experience of managing multi-million-pound projects. PLEASE NOTE: European Travel is a part of this role and therefore essential that you are flexible around this.Duties:

  • Collecting, collating and presenting project data
  • Regular communication on project developments to stakeholders at all levels
  • Participate with the proposals and sales teams preparing quotations
  • Organising regular project and team meetings
  • Focus the design team on project milestones
  • Unblocking technical issues by pulling together the right technical expert(s) to resolve issues.
  • Capturing and communicating meeting notes and actions and following up on action items
  • Tracking & communicating project schedules and milestones
  • Participating in technical discussions, asking probing questions
  • Working with the team to pull together scoping, schedules, and solutions to issues
  • Driving after project learning and improvement over time
  • Develop relationships and monitor contractor performance
Knowledge and Experience Required:
  • Must be able to read detailed engineering drawings
  • Must have fabrication knowledge
  • Must be able to translate customer requirements into functional design to engineering
  • Must be able to deal with customers and group engineering companies
  • Must be able to understand bulk material handling materials and understand their characteristics
  • Engineering background and strong project management skills
  • develop relationships and monitor contractor performance within a complex environment
  • Able to work effectively across multiple teams and functions
  • High influencing skills, communication, presentation and able to demonstrate capability to foster internal and external relationships.
  • Experience of working with ERP systems is essential. (Baan desirable but not essential)
  • Continuous development of self and individual team members
  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites
  • Must have attention to detail
