Working alongside the technical manager you will be responsible for providing the key link between plant breeders, registration authorities and other stakeholders to provide this service.Role and responsibilitiesYou will administer this companystrials contracts with its members and with external trials organisations, keeping contracts up to date, reviewing them in a timely manner and organising tenders as required.To agree charges for variety trials with trial operators and to ensure the best value for money for breeders, working within a budget agreed by theBoard. Coordinate variety trials contracted by this company, including liaison with testing bodies, National List applicants and others as necessary to make sure that the sowing list for each series of tests and trials is accurate and notified in a timely manner. Ensuring applicants for this company variety trials are aware of the requirements for the trials and communicate any updates. Determine the charges to applicants for variety trials and the fees payable to trial operators for each trial series and to raise invoices in a timely manner. To maintain full and accurate records of these transactions. Along with the Trials Manager provide the technical secretariat for Pulses, Amenity Grass, Forage Maize, Sugar Beet, Herbage and Vegetables. This includes organising meetings, taking, and preparing minutes, leading on specific items and following up actionsand implementing decisions. Communicating updates and changes to the Crop Groups in a timely manner.To represent the Society as required at external stakeholder meetings on technical issues.Qualifications and educational requirements An Agricultural degree/experience in plant breeding/seeds industry or related environment.Excellent communication skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organisational and time management skills, ability to manage a diversity of tasks simultaneously.Computer skills in MS Office applications.Flexible approach to work and hours and willingness to travel.Call Julie!
