Our client with offices based in Ely are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis to join their design engineering team. To be considered for this position it is essential that you have a minimum of 10 years Oil & Gas industry mechanical design experience.You will take responsibility for design from initial 3D modelling using AutoDesk Inventor and 2D concept drafting through to detailed production design using AutoCAD Mechanical.You will be involved in new product development, customisation of existing products to meet customer needs, development of fixtures and tooling for product test and manufacture, production of BOM, manuals, reports and testing procedures, checking designs meet relevant codes and directions and that all calculations are correct.You will ideally hold a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and you will have a sound knowledge of ASME standards & codes, you will have strong mechanical product design experience with a high level of 3D modelling. You will be experienced in undertaking hand calculations when required and will have a sound understanding of fabrication, welding and manufacturing techniques.You will thrive on working as part of a team and independently and will have strong and effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
