Job Description

Quality Assistant - Would you like to work full- time but have a 3-day weekend every weekIf so Spider is advertising on behalf of an organisation who are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiasticQuality Assistant / Quality Inspector to join their Quality Assurance team based in Ely, Cambridgeshire.The Quality Assistant / Quality Inspectorwill work closely with all departments and customers to assist with the continuous improvement of our Quality standards.Other key duties include:

  • Assist the Quality Manager in daily operational activities and maintenance of the ISO9001/AS9100 quality management system.
  • Assist with internal quality audits in accordance with the ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Promote a culture of customer focus throughout the organisation.
  • Liaise with customers on resolution of quality issues.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and report audit findings
  • Produce quality documents as required by customer specific contracts including PSW, Certificate/Declaration of Conformity, Control Plans and statistical analysis supporting Process Capability.
  • Train production personnel in basic Quality Procedures, internal standards and Standard Operating Instructions while reinforcing the importance of them.
  • Maintain a visible product traceability record system compatible with the ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management System.
About you:
  • Ideally you will come from a Manufacturing or Engineering background.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within your role.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings would be an advantage.
  • Use of measuring equipment including gauges, handheld equipment, CMM and other metrology devices would be an advantage.
  • Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to liaise with manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Production of FMEA reports and control plans.
  • The use and understanding of the internal Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) systems.
  • Knowledge and use of PC-DMIS and MSCOSMOS would be a distinct advantage.
  • Willingness to turn hand to any quality related issue that might crop up in a fast-paced working environment.
