Job Description

Project Design EngineerDo you have a passion for product design but also the desire to manage and facilitate projects Due to internal promotion, we are looking to hire a Project Engineer that enjoys design to join our team of 5 other Project Engineers! Ideally you will have abackground in electro-mechanical design and worked in a role that requires knowledge of hazardous certification & documentation, dont worry if thats not you though we may also be able to consider candidates that are looking to learn! You must be a highlyorganised individual with impeccable time keeping, whilst also wanting to go above and beyond for your clients!Start: ASAPLocation: Ely, CambridgeshireSalary: Circa £35,000 - £40,000Hours: 37.5 hours with flexible start and finish times during the weekDuration: PermanentBenefits: Flexible start and finish times, enhanced pension, health insurance, life assurance, 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, long service enhanced holiday packageDuties include:

  • Working with clients on projects worth £5000 - £400,000
  • Understanding the design brief from the customer
  • Planning of design activities
  • Building designs from scratch and also making modifications to existing designs
  • Completing designs of various products for the customer
  • Producing customer quotations
  • Producing technical drawings and BOMs
  • Liaison with suppliers with the order of raw materials
  • Managing individual projects through to completion
  • Being the main point of contact for customers throughout the project
  • Using ATEX, AutoCAD and Solid Edge
  • Manging between 10 - 12 mini projects at any one time
  • Produce installation & operation manuals, hazardous area certification lists and drawings
Experience:
  • Experience in the use of CAD packages (2D and 3D)
  • Good experience in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working with/on bills of materials and technical documentation.
  • Experience of working with hazardous area equipment.
  • Good understanding of Instrument and Control systems.
  • Hands on mechanical and electrical experience would be beneficial and preferred.
  • An understanding and experience of using an ERP business system
