Job Description

Biomass Power Station | Production Operator | Sutton Cambridgeshire | Full Time | £27,345 to £38,998 per annum plus benefitsOur client is recognised as one of the leaders in the renewable energy market as a significant contributor to the production of biomass energy for the home market. The power station primarily burns wheat and barley straw. Assisting the Production Team Leader in the safe and efficient running of the plant, you will undertake technical and operational duties, which include plant monitoring and maintenance to ensure maximum plant availability and performance, whilst maintainingthe highest level of safety.You will ideally have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the power utility sector and have mechanical or electrical skills, including fault finding techniques. This position requires a high degree of flexibility, self-motivation and the ability to workwell as part of a team.you will join the operations team which works a shift system covering 24 hours, 7 days a week.Are you the right person for the job

  • You will have a time served, recognised apprenticeship/ONC/OND
  • SHE qualification, i.e. IOSH/NEBOSH
  • A minimum of 2 years in the power utility sector or a similar process industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent level of IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
What will your role as a Production Operator look like
  • To execute operational and frontline maintenance activities in accordance with the approved processes and procedures
  • To investigate plant problems and identify solutions
  • To prepare technical reports and maintain appropriate records within recognised systems
  • To complete accurate and concise shift handovers
  • To work as an integral part of the shift team ensuring the safe and effective operations of the plant
  • To carry out operational routines and inspections
  • To ensure safe working practices and procedures are adhered to
  • To support the Production Team Leader in the preparation of safety documents
  • To assist and cover duties within the fuel and ash production teams
