Experienced Occupational Therapist - Ely An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to practice and further develop specialist skills in rehabilitation for people with acquired brain injury. BIRT (The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust) is part of The Disabilities Trust and is a leading UK charity providing assessment and rehabilitation services for people with acquired brain injury. We believe it is never too late to benefit from rehabilitation. The Disabilities Trust is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the team in our highly regarded service at Fen House. Fen House is a neurorehabilitation centre that offers community-based rehabilitation for people with an acquired brain injury. In this role you will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team (including Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Support Workers) using the neurobehavioural model. The focus is to provide person centred rehabilitation that is evidence based. This is a unique community-based inpatient setting with a psychological approach. The service users may have a range of complex and challenging needs including cognitive, behavioural, physical and emotional difficulties following brain injury. You will have scope to work with service users in a holistic way to address all aspects of recovery and to regain maximal independence including participation in social, leisure and vocational activities. There is access to specialist training, supervision (through the Senior OT) and development opportunities and you will be encouraged to get involved in service development and research within the trust.
