Job Description

Job Title: Management AccountantLocation: Sutton NR ElyFull Time/Permanent£35k per annumMy client has been building their expertise across the many complexities of retailing since 1997. Working alongside enterprising retailers like John Lewis, Tesco, Sainsburys, Screwfix and Waitrose, with an unrivalled track record, developing new ways forthese retailers to satisfy the growing expectations of their multichannel shoppers.Purpose of Job:To maintain comprehensive financial reporting, being s key interface between the site and central finance team

  • Lead the client variance analysis reporting including finance business partnering internal and external non-finance stakeholders.
  • Preparation of the site weekly P&L reports, including meaningful bridge commentary to explain variance in EBITDA to budget and prior weeks.
  • Produce and complete the monthly management accounts packs (within working day 5), ensuring the appropriate accounting standards are applied to all journals posted. Including posting all site overhead allocations.
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are justified and any required actions are clearly outlined.
  • Liaise with the customer contract leads and central finance team to ensure all actions are completed before the following month end close.
  • Work closely with the central finance team to regularly review the intercompany and other control account postings.
  • Support the central finance team with the year-end audit process, including providing testing evidence as part of the external auditors requests.
  • Maintain the site fixed asset register, ensuring all inter-department movements are tracked for audit purposes.
  • Ensure all site capital expenditure submissions fall in-line with company policy, and creating all approved fixed assets in our Navision accounting system.
  • Routinely review the site occupancy expenditure, preparing commentary for distribution to the senior management teams for review.
  • Support with the completion of the annual site budgets and quarterly reforecasts within the set deadlines.
  • Support with the financial control of project undertaken by the group.
  • Support the Regional Financial Controller with any other duties as required.
Key Skills/ Competencies:
  • Ability to manage multiple customer contracts, P&Ls and business units
  • Ability to self-manage workload.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics Navision is preferred
  • Working towards being ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified
  • Strong numerical and written skills
