Salary - £23,195 per annum + shift allowance4 on / 4 off shift pattern,working window between 6:30am - 5.30pmPermanentLocation: Covering the Eastern AW region from Kings Lynn to Chelmsford and all areas East of these.Become part of our sampling teamBefore it reaches our customers tap, drinking water is cleaned, disinfected and tested to ensure its safe to be consumed; after the water has been flushed and poured into our sewers, its delivered to our water recycling works, where its cleaned beforeit gets passed back to nature, where its also tested to ensure its not going to damage the environment.We analyse and test hundreds of clean water and final effluent samples everyday.What will you be doingJoining the scientific sampling team on a 4 on/4 off shift pattern using your methodical and scientific approach, youll travel around the Eastern part of our region visiting Anglian Waters water treatment works and recycling centres, boreholes, reservoirs,rivers and customer properties collecting water samples and carrying out on-site chlorine tests.Following vital scientific processes, youll continuously work within the regulatory guidelines, meeting our quality standards. Youll prepare various sampling bottles, ensuring the accuracy of every single sample that you collect; youll then return thesamples to the laboratory for them to be thoroughly analysed.The work youll do is critical to the whole scientific analysis process; you really will make a difference.Youll build effective working relationships with your colleagues back in the laboratory, who are relying on your high levels of service and youll also engage with customers, where youll be representing Anglian Water in a professional and approachablemanner delivering excellent customer service.What do you need- Its essential that you have a scientific background or A Level qualification (or equivalent); youll also be a reliable and professional individual with experience of providing excellent customer service.- Youll need to be comfortable with manual lifting and driving throughout the day. This role will find you working in a variety of environments, therefore a flexible and can do attitude is essential.- The ability to work within a defined method and record information accurately means youll need focus and a strong attention to detail.
