Job Description

This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer andrequires an individual with excellent leadership and professional skills and the ability to demonstrate a proven track-record of senior management in a business with an international aspect. Main duties will include:

  • Product demand and inventory planning.
  • Maintaining purchasing, inventory/ product data and specifications that meet all business, compliance (environmental, quality, regulatory and safety), customer and purchasing requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Ensuring that purchasing and logistics activities delivered efficiently maintain product availability.
  • Ensuring that all procurement related compliance and ethical trading requirements are met.
Procurement
  • Developing and leading the delivery of initiatives/ improved ways of working to create sustainable cost savings.
  • Coaching, developing and leading the Procurement team.
  • Development and delivery of the strategic plan for Procurement to provide a best practice strategy appropriate to the needs of the business.
  • Providing strategic supply base management including supplier selection, negotiations, administration and supplier relationship/performance management.
  • Driving continuous improvements in logistics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory/ non-inventory procurement and contracting.
  • Driving continuous improvement in reliability of supply whilst reducing stock holding levels.
  • Delivery of all purchasing and supplier logistics related activities.
  • Ensuring sufficient stock ordered and available to meet forecast demand.
  • Delivery of demand planning for all items sold working with the MD, CFO and Senior Management Team.
  • Driving improvement in and maintaining procurement related ERP data (bills of material, safety stocks, lead times and demand forecasts).
  • Liaison with sales and marketing to ensure input in reflected in demand forecasts/ stock availability.
  • Managing supplier performance through timely identification of non-conformance (quality, quantity, specifications and timing) and where appropriate ensuring cost impacts passed back to suppliers.
  • Ensuring reporting systems in place to identify and correct potential stock outs to implement corrective actions when potential stock outs identified.
  • Ensuring safety stock levels maintained (including any arrangements specifically agreed with customers or suppliers.
  • Ensuring all stock held by third parties is controlled and appropriately accounted for.
  • Challenging the use of third-party locations to ensure costs optimised.
  • Accountable for all International and Local import procedures and processes and ensure the preparation of accurate import documents for each container and forward to import agent.
  • Ensuring all commodity codes and duty rates for each imported SKU are up to date in NetSuite.
  • Managing the impact of supplier shutdowns to ensure deliveries not impacted.
  • Monitor slow moving and excess stocks and work with company staff and the MD/ CFO/ SMT to reduce.
  • Development and maintenance of appropriate/ robust procurement standard operating procedures to meet quality management standards.
ExperienceSignificant experience in senior procurement management role in international business.In-depth vendor management experience including negotiating and maintaining supplier contracts.In-depth experience of planning and delivering global logistics.East-West cross-culture experience or background in a global procurement organisation.Proven track record in developing & implementing strategies to deliver improved cost performance.Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of purchasing and logistics.Experience with Industry standard ERP systems.Experience of leading procurement roles in new product development / customer programmes.Experience with global purchasing organisations and Global suppliers.Experience of ensuring Supply Chain security and other compliance requirements met.Key CompetenciesAmbition to develop value-added Strategy.Results orientated and Problem Solving.Resilience and high personal motivation.Excellent communication and influencing skills.Qualified purchasing professional (MCIPS) preferred or able to demonstrate significant relevant experience in procurement.Understanding and delivery of stock management and reduction initiatives.Ability to manage global supplier base.Strong demonstrated communication, negotiation, and customer satisfaction skills.Strong understanding of contracting.Strong data analysis and IT skills.Please send your current CV to
