Job Description

Grounds Maintenance PersonWe are looking for a skilled maintenance person to join our client’s team to look after all outdoor spaces at the Ely site. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have demonstratable experience within grounds maintenance and DIY as you will be the primary person responsible for the grounds, outdoor buildings and yards on site.Start: ASAPLocation: Ely, CambridgeshireHours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am - 16.15pm, Fridays 8am - 16.30pm (30 minutes lunch)Salary: £21,638.76 (£10.67 per hour)Duration: PermanentDuties:

  • Responsibility for the maintenance of all outdoor areas including building, grounds and yards
  • Grass mowing and maintenance
  • Flower bed weeding and maintenance
  • Maintaining tree’s / shrubs
  • Litter collecting
  • Watering / irrigation
  • Sweeping / cleaning hard surfaces
  • Gritting and winter maintenance
  • Painting
  • Gutter / drain cleaning
  • Window cleaning
  • Appropriate disposal of waste materials
  • Organising the yard, ensuring things are in their place
  • Line painting and marking
  • Producing maintenance schedules and Standard operating procedures
    • Required Knowledge & Skills:
  • Hands on approach with strong DIY / garden maintenance skills
  • Prior grounds maintenance experience is desirable.
  • An enthusiasm for grounds maintenance and a desire to expand grounds maintenance skill set
  • Ability to multitask, time manage and work independently.
  • Ability to take initiative and identify / solve problems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft office are desirable
