Job Description

Facilities & Maintenance Manager Ely, Cambridgeshire Days, Monday to Thursday (37.5 Hours) £40,000 We are looking for a motivated EHS, Facilities & Maintenance Manager to join a market leading manufacturer. Leading the Facilities and Maintenance teams, the ideal candidate should have proven experience in a production / manufacturing environment, ideallywith practical hands-on experience as well as a recognised Health & Safety Qualification.You will manage the day-to-day Production engineering tasks, including PPM, breakdown and continuous improvements, utilising and administering the CMMS system in place. You will assess training requirements in the team and organise in conjunction with theEngineering Manager. The position will appeal to a Facilities & Maintenance Manager looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance of plant, equipment, and buildings to ensure compliance with relevant statutory provisions, minimisation of equipment downtime, care of equipment to maximise life expectancy and efficiency.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and enforce them among maintenance staff. Ensure accurate records are kept.
  • Contact and schedule contractors as needed. Regularly review contractor performance to ensure we receive best value.
  • Monitor and manage ongoing costs and best practice for all related activities e.g. Scrap metal, wastes, PPE, cleaning consumables, production gases, coolant & oils, engineers rates.
  • Implement and manage H&S systems for both sites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and manage an Environmental system conforming to BSEN ISO 14001, to include reviewing relevant aspects and impacts, ranking significance and managing resulting environmental improvement projects, in conjunction with the QA manager arrange internalaudits, host surveillance audit visits and manage findings.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience within a manufacturing / production environment
  • Proven staff management and cost control experience
  • A recognised Health & Safety Qualification
  • Knowledge of ISO14001
