Summary This is one of the most exciting jobs in UK nature conservation.We are looking for someone to lead the conservation of Wicken Fen and support our ambitions to extend the nature reserve as part of our 100-year plan, the Wicken Fen Vision.If youre passionateabout making space for nature, taking action against climate change, and connecting people with nature wed love to hear from you. What its like to work here The wild and dramatic landscape of Wicken Fen is truly awe-inspiring. A rare and significant wetland site in the Cambridgeshire fens, your office is an internationally important nature reserve set against a backdrop of dramatic big fenland skies. Hometo more than 9,000 species, it is the countrys most biodiverse site and the National Trusts oldest nature reserve. The close-knit team are devoted to the conservation of this rich habitat and are looking for a dedicated leader to steer this important work. What youll be doing Youll lead the countryside team, managing a staff team of 4 rangers supported by a large community of volunteers.Youll set the direction and ensure the delivery of the nature reserves management plan, oversee compliance of countryside activities, andgenerate income through grant schemes and other fundraising activity.Youll be responsible for managing projects and contractors in delivering habitat creation and access projects and supporting your team to do the same.Youll work in partnership with ourneighbours and stakeholders to our deliver landscape-scale vision.This is a key leadership role in the Fenland portfolio of properties, forming part of the leadership team and deputising for the General Manager at times.
