East Cambs Trading Company Council have an exciting opportunity for an Arborist to join their team.Location: Ely, CambridgeshireSalary: £26,845 per annumArborist - The Role:East Cambs Trading Company have an exciting opportunity for an Arborist to join our growing Arboricultural team.Your role will be to deliver a range of high quality Arboricultural work to the East Cambridgeshire District Council tree stock and to our commercial clients.ArboristKey Responsibilities:The post will require you to carry out a wide range of arboricultural tasks, from technical tree removals to formative pruning. The post may require other duties of a reasonable nature as may be determined by Trees Officer, Parks and Open Spaces Team Leader/Parksand Open Spaces Manager.The ECTC Arboricultural team is part of a larger grounds maintenance team.ArboristYou:Required professional qualifications:- L2 or above Qualification in Arboriculture or similar subject- NPTC 201 (CS 30) chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting- NPTC 202 (CS 31) small tree felling- NPTC 203 (CS 38) aerial rescue- NPTC 204 (CS 39) chainsaw use from rope and harness- Woodchipper qualification-Emergency First Aid + F-Experience working within the Arboricultural industry with up to date knowledge on the industry best practice and legislation- Drivers licenseDesirable professional qualifications:- L3 or above Qualification in Arboriculture or similar subject- NPTC 302 (CS 40) aerial tree pruning- IPAF MEWP certificate- NPTC 309 (CS47) Use of a chainsaw from a mobile elevating work platform- NPTC 207 (CS 48) Powered pole pruner- NPTC 303 (CS 41) Aerial rigging and lowering- Stump Grinder qualification- Manual handling training- PA1, PA6 (Spraying, use of chemicals e.c.t)Training will be provided for the right candidate.- You must be focused, committed and hardworking- You must be resourceful, be able to work well with others and also able to work/manage time independently- You will have a key focus on safe working practices, care and maintenance of arboricultural equipment/machinery/vehicles, along with a passion for high quality tree careThe hours of work are Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4.00pm and Friday - 8:00am - 3.30pm (37 Hours a week)Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.Arborist - Benefits:- Training, development and payment of professional fees- Holidays and pension scheme entitlementsClosing date for completed applications is Sunday, 16th April 2023Interviews will be held on: Thursday, 27th April 2023The Council is an equal opportunities employer and operates a smoke-free policy.To submit your application for this exciting Arborist opportunity, please click Apply now!
