Job Description

The Briars Group provides the back office power to support growing entrepreneurial and international businesses across the UK, mainland Europe, North America and the Far East. Currently employing a specialist team of c. 25 talented staff and growing, we offer a fun, friendly and supportive environment and encourage individuals to demonstrate and develop their talents.The Compliance Officer is a key member of the Commercial Team, a highly qualified and busy department that takes pride in providing our clients with a welcoming and professional service. The Compliance Officer will ensure that Briars and its clients are up to date will all relevant compliance matters, providing information updates and training where appropriate.The main duties of this role will be:

  • Responsible for compliance with prevalent legislation, including GDPR, AML, ABC, CCO, etc.
  • Monitoring, then training, staff and clients on latest regulatory changes.
  • Assisting with legal actions and activities on behalf of the Company and its clients.
  • We are looking for someone with several years’ experience in a professional services firm or corporate compliance department (ideally at least 5 years and with legal experience), educated to degree level and who can demonstrate their knowledge and familiarity with AML, GDPR, etc.Confident and engaging, you will have a high level of attention detail, along with first-rate written and verbal skills in the English language. Longer term, this role may be based in the office or home-based, depending on individual circumstances.We offer generous company benefits including private medical insurance, life assurance and pension.
