Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer for a growing aerospace and defence manufacturing company. The role is based in Ellesmere Port.Client DetailsOur client is a global defence and aerospace manufacturer and a market leader in its field.DescriptionThe Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) role will provide support to the Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, ensuring compliance to all legal and regulatory requirements whilst continuously improving product and process quality within the supply chain. The SQE will periodically review suppliers in line with current AS9100 standard. As part of the SQE team the workload will also include travelling to suppliers, conducting audits, raising findings and complaints for nonconforming products, monitoring product/supplier performance through the ERP system (IFS), helping suppliers work through root cause investigations, and ensuring that product quality issues are resolved in a timely manner. Good communication skills and a good understanding of quality investigation processes are essential for this role. The SQE will also help resolve supply chain-related customer complaints, internal and external Non Conformances, and will also support the Quality Department with other continuous improvement work as and when required by the Senior SQA Engineer or the Quality Manager in line with business needs.1.Ensure adherence to all business procedures, work instructions and applicable standards.2.Monitor supplier performance.3.Review Material Review Board (MRB) data and resolve MRB cases.4. Inspect product upon receipt, when required by the business5. Development and continuous improvement of suppliers, products, and internal processes relating to supply chain.6. Utilise root cause analysis tools such as cause and effect diagrams, 5 Whys, 8D and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis), to enable corrective and preventative action solutions with suppliers.7. Ensure 5S disciplines are implemented and maintained in all areas of the business.8. Supplier audits, in line with latest revision of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.9. Provide support for purchasing department, resolving issues with suppliers using Material Complaint Notice process, or supplier visits when necessary.10. Ability to understand and check detailed sectional and general assembly drawings.11. To achieve goals set within the PDR process and foster a can-do attitude.12.
