Project Manager Water Industry

Job Description

Our client, a leading water sector specialist, is looking to recruit a Project Manager on a permanent/salaried basis.PurposeThe Project Manager will be responsible for the deliverables and planning of projects on the ClientFramework Agreements. Effective communication with Client Representatives is imperative. The idealcandidate will be a strong communicator with experience of managing a team of Project Engineers to deliveron time and on budget to a portfolio of work. A background in Mechanical and Electrical projects is key.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS & MEASURESManage and co-ordinate all project construction activities and ensure that all project deliverables areachieved with regard to safety, quality, programme and cost. Along with the following:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESHEALTH AND SAFETY

• Ensure a safe workplace environment mitigating risk to health – safe people, safe place.
• Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to.
• Complete all mandatory training related to Health & Safety

ROLE SPECIFIC

• Lead in house site teams and sub-contractors to maintain the highest possible standard of safety
• performance at all times and ensure safety is the number one priority of all members of the team.
• Implement management and monitoring procedures to cover all aspects of design, procurement,
• manufacture and installation of components on and off site.
• Responsible for SHEQ and CDM compliance, working alongside Health & Safety Team.
• Responsible for Commercial and Programme Management of Schemes.
• Chair and minute internal and external meetings including but not limited to - site progress, safety, team,
• design and sub-contract meetings, dependant on size of scheme.
• Support commercial team with selection and procurement of sub-contract packages.
• Identify and manage third party involvement.
• Produce all necessary reports for internal and external functions.
• Motivate and support the site team and sub-contractors to deliver all targets and objectives.
• Provides development opportunities through delegation and enthusiastically supports training and development activities. · Resolve and close out all complex issues quickly and effectively. · Work with Framework Manager and other team members to developand secure new work streams. · Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role. · Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times. · Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be requiredfrom time to time and to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

• Possess relevant CSCS card.
• Relevant industry qualification preferred, e.g, ONC, HNC, Degree.
• Technical knowledge of Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Water & Waste Water Operations.
• Possess strong Planning Awareness and Abilities
• Commercial and planning awareness.
• Industry experience in a similar role.
• First Aid at work.
• Appropriate IT skills including the use of company software packages.
