Working out of a depot in Ellesmere Port, the Grounds Maintenance Operative will assist in the delivery of polling booths across Cheshire, along with supporting grounds maintenance activities around the election date.This is an ongoing temporary role until the end of May, working Monday to Friday hours, though there may be some weekend/overnight work around the 6th of May.Hours of work: Monday to Friday 37 hours a weekRESPONSIBILITIES:· Driving service vehicles to deliver polling booths to designated sites across Cheshire each day· After the election date, driving to sites to collect the booths· General tasks to support / backfill the staff who are out completing election duties· There may be overnight work and weekend work around the date of the election· Provide a customer-focused service which delivers clean, safe, accessible sites· Grounds maintenance, grass cutting, weeding, edging, strimming, hedge maintenance, seasonal bedding maintenance and planting, manual and mechanical cleansing, sweeping and litter collection· Operate and maintain to a basic standard a full range of powered hand tools and horticultural equipmentSKILLS REQUIRED:· Full UK driving licence is essential· Experience of grounds maintenance/horticulture or working within a stores environment would be beneficial· Able to follow work instructions and schedules to ensure work is completed to the required standard and in a timely manner· Work in a safe manner and ensure the safe use of materials and equipment at all times· Physically fit to carry out duties such as digging and using machinery· To be thorough and pay attention to detail· Excellent verbal communication skillsKEYWORDS: Operative, grounds, maintenance, gardening, driving, horticultureUnfortunately due to time restrictions we cannot respond to every applicant, in the event that we haven’t contacted you within 48 hours please take it you have not been successful for this particular role, but your details will be kept on file and considered for all future vacancies.We are acting on behalf of the client as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.We are an equal opportunities agency and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
