Job Description

Electrical Engineer£44,000-£47,000 Per AnnumEllesmere PortDays Only (Mon-Fri)gap technical are proud to be representing this World Class Manufacturing Business in their search for a Electrical Engineer to work at their facility based near Ellesmere PortPerformance Objectives

  • Identify reliability improvement opportunities, lead electrical project.
  • Perform RCA investigations and provide technical support in problem solving and completing repairs to electrical systems and equipment.
  • Additional responsibilities include delivering CAPEX projects, identifying opportunities for improvement, the creation of controlled documentation, obsolescence reviews and developing asset management strategies.
  • Support the Engineering team to deliver the maintenance plan
  • Create Planned Maintenance routines
  • Review existing Planned Maintenance routines to ensure that best practice is utilised to extend life and increase MTBF.
  • Extract and interpret data from a variety of sources (including CMMS, Shift Reports, Machine Logs etc) to understand Engineering losses and develop corrective/preventative actions where required.
  • On-going tracking and reporting of departmental KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, PM Completion %, Equipment Availability).
  • Develop the organisation to a greater proactive and forward focused state. Utilising tools such as RCA, Pareto, FMEA etc.
  • Conduct obsolescence reviews where required. Identify and drive any improvement actions.
  • Assist Shift & Day maintenance teams with complex fault-finding and breakdowns.
  • Creation of controlled documentation (Work Instructions, OPLs, SOPs etc) and delivery of any associated training to ensure that knowledge of equipment and processes is shared across all Engineering functions.
  • Support and deliver CAPEX/OPEX projects.
Person Specification
  • Experience in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment is essential.
  • HNC/D in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
  • In-depth knowledge of servo motors, Siemen S7S PLCs and variable speed drives.
  • Ability to create and present technical documentation/information.
  • Experience in the creation and completion of planned maintenance activities.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Significant technical competence.
  • Team worker with good organisational & communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Practical & flexible with a willingness to work extended hours as per business needs.
  • Ideally 8 years post Apprenticeship Experience
