JOB AD:Our client are one of the biggest consumer electronics companies in the world, and are at the cutting edge of research into Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.They are looking for a Principal Data Intelligence Engineer to join them full time at one of their R&D sites in London and contribute to both research and development projects.Research project domains include Recommender systems, Time Series Analysis, Anomaly detection, Ontology and Semantic Web Technologies (RDF, OWL), triple stores and graph databases.Development project domains include data science where the teams are analysing patterns in boundless quantities of existing and new data with complex data modelling using machine learning or statistical analysis to produce insights for the business.The candidate is expected to liaise with multiple research and development teams providing technical expertise and technical oversight. The candidate will liaise with academic partners and other research centres to develop new technology opportunities and participate in developing new strategic directions and technology proposals.Within this role then technological excellence is required, there will be no requirement to perform any management function.Responsibilities:As a Principal Data Intelligence Engineer you will:- Research and develop a wide variety of Data Intelligence related technologies that may be applied to the clients devices and infrastructure- Provide technical oversight on existing projects through the inception, feasibility, design and implementation phases- Have knowledge of the latest data science techniques- Assist in identifying appropriate academic technology partnerships, whilst maintaining technology liaisons with existing partners- Liaison with academic partners and technical contributions to research papers and patents- Assist in the generation of new ideas and opportunities- Technical contributions to research papers and patentsRequired Skills- A PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or any related discipline.- Knowledge of the latest data science techniques.- Programming proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas etc.), R, Scala, , C++/Java- Data modelling and cleansing experience in above languages- Experience working with big data sets- Experience with processing tools like Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Pig- Exposure to SQL and relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB etc.)- Prior experience with one or more of the following: collaborative filtering, clustering, classification, segmentation, regression, decision trees, statistical models- Experience with databases, relational and non-relational databases, including: triplestore technologies and graph databases.Desirable Skills- Experience with Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud etc.)- Experience implementing a real-world recommender or ranking system- Exposure to CNN, RNN, LTSM- Experience working with different data sources (REST APIs, different database technologies, etc.)- Good understanding of Semantic Web Technologies and Ontology reasoningIf you are interested in applying for this position or would like more information please get in touch.
