Job Description

The Scottish Courts & Tribunals Service are working to implement a new web platform and require a User Researcher to assist with web portal changes and also ensure user researcher data is based on proven methodology and collated both quantitatively and qualitatively.Client DetailsThe Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) is an independent body corporate established by the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008.Its function is to provide administrative support to Scottish courts and tribunals and to the judiciary of courts, including the High Court of Justiciary, Court of Session, sheriff courts and justice of the peace courts, and to the Office of the Public Guardianand Accountant of Court.DescriptionTo deliver a new Secure Web Platform to allow authenticated Appellants and Members to proactively view the latest details of their Appeal(s) along with:

  1. Document Bundling (the capability to generate bundles of judicial documentation from two or more separate documents and files)
  2. Notification (the capability to proactively and reactively notify Appellants, Members and other applicable third parties at key points of the Appeal case lifecycle)
The project requires a user researcher to help with web portal changes and also ensure user researcher data is based on proven methodology and collated both quantitatively and qualitatively.User research activities taking into account and to help produce:
  • Be the Voice of the User for the project
  • Assist with identification and creation of Personae, drawing on existing and new ethnographic / demographic data and research
  • Assist with the sourcing and recruitment of users that are representative of one or more Persona groups
  • Using proven experience and UCD-driven methodologies, conduct User Research activities (quantitive and qualitative) with user groups
  • Collaborate with others on the project team to ensure user needs are reflected and represented in user journeys maps
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitive usability test activities through defined, iterative stages of the project
  • Ensure an evidence-led approach is followed throughout, adhering to all legal and ethical user research principles & governance
  • Document findings that are appropriate for a number of internal and external stakeholders
All work, research, documentation and artefacts need to align to the digital standard assurance framework from Scottish governmentProfilePrior experience in a similar role delivering similar outcomes.Job OfferInitial 6 month contract ourside IR35 with scope for extension up to 23 months.
