Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a UX Designer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £400-450/day (outside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will initially be remote based. The Role:The successful candidate will work principally on a strategic digital transformation programme, ensuring that user centric requirements are understood and articulated in a clear and concise manner. We are looking for an experienced UX Designer with Lean-Agile/Digital background to support the definition and design of a Digital Appeals solution.Responsibilities:• Using tried and tested methods to understand our digital users needs• Feeding back to the wider organisation user research/workshop outputs• Working collaboratively with Digital Labs and Scrum Teams to provide detailed wireframes, prototypes and story boards• Providing general design guidance and advice to business and change stakeholders• Identifying opportunities to deliver business benefit and user-centric capability through adoption of new technologies and/or new ways of working• Collaborating with business stakeholders, business analysts, product owners, Developers, and Digital Labs across the organisation and with external organisations and partners• Be part of a Lab / Scrum teams to champion and reflect Lean UX design thinking in their workEssential Skills:• Facilitation of user and customer workshops to gather quantitate and qualitative feedback• Conducting user research, surveys and interviews to gain clarity on user journey requirements• Reporting user research in a clear and concise manner• Production of hi-fidelity wireframes/prototypes which adheres to Scottish Governments Digital Standards• Story board building to showcase and explore customer journey options• MVT and A/B testing• Use of industry standard software such as Axure, Sketch, InVision, Marvel, Mural etc• Multi-channel design - mobile, desktop and tablet• Fluent in user centric design best practicesDesirable Skills:• Working in a user centric environment• Working in Lean-Agile teams and familiar with either Scrum/ PSU/ Kanban approaches• Defining user personas and empathy mapsIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
