Job Description

Meraki Talent are delighted to be engaged on the role of Treasury Analyst for a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh. The is paying £21,000 - £23,000 per annum plus study support and excellent additional benefits.The OrganisationThis organisation plays a crucial role in the Scottish civil service and have built a great reputation on the market for staff retention. Moreover, they pledge to invest in any employees looking to pursue further qualifications - offering financial support.The Role/PersonThe role of Treasury Analyst will report into the Transactional Finance Manager and will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the organisations bank accounts. The successful individual will have good experience of bank reconciliations, cash management and banking journal entries. This individual will also have or be pursuing a qualification in banking or finance and will have excellent MS Excel proficiency (pivot table, vlookups etc.)On OfferThe role of Treasury Analyst is offering a salary of £21,000 - £23,000 per annum with study support and an excellent benefits package (including FLEXIBLE WORKING - post Covid-19). The office is based in Edinburgh and is easily accessible via public transport.You will be involved with but not limited to the following duties:

  • Responsible for reconciling the key bank accounts for the organisation.
  • Troubleshooting and analysing the accounts when reconciling
  • Managing and forecasting on the daily cash position of the bank accounts
  • Creating any journal entries for any necessary alternations
  • Managing the opening and closing of any bank accounts
  • Approving any payments - BACS and Cheques
  • KPI reporting and ensuring these KPIs are met.
  • Liaise with other finance department to ensure a smooth month end closure of the accounts.
  • Liaise with external Bank Manager on issues relating to the accounts i.e., audit queries.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.
    • To be considered for this opportunity you must:
  • Have experience of a similar banking/treasury related role.
  • Have experience of performing bank reconciliations and double entry bookkeeping (debits/credits)
  • Have experience of producing KPI reports related to banking
  • Have good knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups etc)
  • Have excellent communication and relationship building skills
