Job Description

Meraki Talent are engaged on an excellent permanent Transformation Project AccountantFinancial Services role based in Edinburgh(hybrid working) paying up to £50,000 plus exceptional bonus, pension, & benefits. This RoleThis role will enable someone to get involved in a large programme of change and implement the processes into BAU. A large element of this role will be liaising with project team whilst working with operational team. However, there will be the opportunityto get involved with the wider responsibilities of the team in theaccounting processes that are run to enable the ledger to be closed each month.The Fund Accounting teamis responsible for managing and controlling a full range of finance transactions andprocesses that result in complete and accurate accounting records in the ledger, controlled balance sheets and well managed & controlled period end close activities. In addition to delivering core month end outputs to a high standard, you will also play a lead role in the continued development of the team, support planning and co-ordination activities, work side by side with the wider Finance Department, and engage withkey stakeholders at all levels in the business. You will strive to maximise reliability and efficiency through the continuous development and improvement of the accounting and reporting processes, while demonstrating role-model behaviours and setting the benchmark for financial controls excellence. On OfferThe role of Transformation Project Accountant is based in Edinburgh and offering the following package:

  • Up to £50,000 per annum
  • Potential up to circa 30% of annual salary
  • 10% non-contributory pension

You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties:
  • Ensure the accurate closure of the IFRS Oracle ledger each month end by the completion of key controls and MI related tasks.
  • Undertake project work to support the development of robust and effective control processes across the wider Operations area to maximize reliability and efficiency
  • Support analysts owning new reconciliations. Ownership for oversight of these reconciliations
  • Provide accounting expertise and liaise with project team to support the project delivery
  • Carry out analytical reviews/verification checks to ensure ledger accuracy at month end
  • Manage demands across change programmes
  • Develop an understanding of the business held in our ledger entities
  • Use initiative to suggest, and take the lead on, the development of Operational controls to maximize reliability and efficiency
  • Support co-ordination and planning activities within the team
  • Point of contact for internal and external audit in respect of processes/responsibilities aligned.
  • Adapting your own style and approach in order to influence and ensure effective relationships are maintained and developed across the business
  • Support the team in analysing the impact of complex business-driven projects on critical accounting processes
  • Working with tight timescales and challenging resources
To be considered for this role you must:
  • Be a qualified accountant
  • Experience of working within financial services (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a transformation or project experience (essential)
  • Have excellent communication, stakeholder and change management skills
  • Be confident and willing to challenge business convention
