The OpportunityWe have exciting opportunities for Test Technicians to join Leonardo in Edinburgh. These opportunities are to support the radar department within our operations function. You will be involved in the testing of cutting edge avionic systems for a wide range of military & civilian aircraft. These products include mechanically scanning radar systems (M-Scan) and active electronically scanning array (AESA) radar systems.These roles are for nightshift 4 on 4 off.So whos Leonardo While it might sound like we love sketching the Vitruvian man, we actually spend most of our time drafting, coding, building, and problem-solving engineering projects for defence.   • Key Responsibility AreasWhat you will do
  • Test of complex Digital, RF & Microwave units in a high technology aerospace & defence-manufacturing environment.
  • This will be broken down into the following:
  • RF test
  • Digital test
  • Analogue test
  • Interpretation and adherence to test specifications.
  • Interpretation of technical drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Electrical Safety Testing
  • Product Acceptance Test Procedures
  • Vibration Testing (preferred)
  • Thermal Testing (preferred)
  • Maintain effective and pro-active communication with Project, Quality and Engineering functions
  • To ensure standard handover procedure and effective communication is applied over all Radar product
  • Responsibility for designated SC21/5S areas to be completed in line with daily/weekly/monthly sign off sheets
  • Most training will be delivered through on-the-job experience
  • Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge RequiredWhat you will bring:
  • High Level of dexterity.
  • Good Visual clarity/full colour vision
  • PC use
  • HNC in system/electrical engineering/ RF engineering
  • Experience with SAP production systems
  • Understanding and standard working practices of safety precautions required when integrating or aligning a typical laser device
  • Experience in working in clean rooms
  • Due to the nature of the tasks involved, you must be capable of achieving full SC security clearance.
