Job Description

Do you enjoy consulting with clients and providing your technical expertise, to help resolve complex IT problemsIf so, this could be the position youve been looking for!Our client is a specialist independent Software company delivering digital solutions for the Energy sector utilising specialist Data/Optimisation Analytics.This is a new role for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our clients fast-growing Engineering team in Edinburgh. In this position, you will help deliver tier-one customer delivery, provide knowledge, whilst solving technical software solutions.Key to this appointment:

  • Strong sense of ownership and the desire to deliver outstanding service to a fast growing client base.
  • An engineering background and a successful track record in supporting high-quality commercial software applications.
  • Liaise with QA and the engineering teams, coaching them to improve their operational technical skills
  • Have a good understanding of databases and data ingestion using ETL.
  • Ensure data integrity and security of IT infrastructure
  • Improve operational awareness, alerting and reporting
  • Deal with technical challenges that are particularly high profile, urgent, or strategically important to rectify.
    • Desirables:
  • 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience with SQL Server maintenance, analysing and tuning database performance.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking, IPSEC VPN, network security
  • Some experience with CI/CD pipelines / automated deployment, Azure DevOps
  • Passionate about service delivery and have a strong desire to learn and improve.
  • Good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent client-facing skills
  • Strong technical knowledge in web application support in a windows environment.
