Job Description

Role: Technical Operations Analyst - Mainframe & Mid-rangeLocation: EdinburghPermanentSalary: Competitive + benefitsKey Skills and Experience:

  • Technical: IBM Z Cloud, DB2, IBM Z OS
  • Ability to cope in a technically complex and fast-changing environment
  • Strong planning and organising skills
  • Liaise with IT suppliers and internal teams
  • Support submissions to the technical design authority, including drafting and submitting technical proposals, and reviewing progress to ensure they meet business needs
  • Ensuring infrastructure and platforms are developed, implemented and operated in a manner that supports appropriate levels of resilience and performance
  • Ability to support the management technical operations simultaneously whilst balancing business priorities and quality
  • Ability to disseminate important messages to an executive audience
  • Established influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to enthuse and inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels
  • Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues
  • Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritisation and a pragmatic approach
  • Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and able to work collaboratively and constructively within project and discipline teams
  • Leadership skills and the ability to communicate a clear vision to others
  • Ability to contribute and maintain a culture and vision where colleagues are engaged and inspired to deliver within budget and timelines for their customers
  • Additional Requirements;
  • Eligible to work in the UK without the need of visa support/sponsorship
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
