Such as those that affect the central nervous system, muscle and heart tissues. Their Edinburgh site is the R&D Engine of the company developing new platform technologies or enhancing existing platforms as they progress to clinical trials. With technology that focuses on wild type AAV vectors allied with sector leading gene expression tools, gene dosing and high yield AAV manufacturing capabilities. The role:They are seeking a Team Leading to take responsibility for a team of 6 to direct and drive the science of the team. The purpose of their work is to develop the next generation of gene expression products with your role being to direct the science, develop new ideas and drive these forward to deliver results. The focus of the research is to identify how to tackle the more challenging disease pathways by the use of regulated or auto regulated gene expression cassettes. To then trigger gene expression when needed. With the team’s aims to develop gene expression technologies that could be auto regulated or triggered by the delivery small molecules.Your role is to develop gene expression techniques using your expertise of gene therapies and viral vectors. They use wild type AAV in their research, however experience in others such as Lentivrial or Retroviral are relevant should you want to apply.Experience:For this opportunity you will need to have a relevant degree or high qualification with experience of working in commercial environments. With experience of developing gene expression approaches within the gene therapy or related area, with experience of working with AAV or other viral vectors.
