We are currently looking for a Team Lead (Rearing Development) to join a leading Biotechnology company based in Edinburgh. As one of the first team members in the clients new Scotland hub, you will be a self-starter who will work alongside the ProgramLead to establish a new team, set up the new lab space and get research up and running in line with project timelines. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Team Lead (Rearing Development) will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. You will manage and direct the work of a small team (1-3 direct reports) responsible for testing tick rearing methods whilst working closely with partner organisations and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with them. 2. You will provide clear communication regarding outcomes of processes, experiments, and planning with the Program Lead. 3. As the Team lead you will report data in meetings throughout the company, to audiences with various technical knowledge, and write clear and concise reports for internal and external review. 4. The Team Lead will ave a clear understanding of the commercial impact of the work and responsibilities and strive to optimise performance. ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Team Lead (Rearing Development) we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. An MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. entomology, biology, biochemistry, bioengineering) or associated industry experience is essential. 2. Proven industry experience in leading highly technical and specialized teams, managing multiple work streams in parallel and communicating progress to senior management is required.3. You will take a hands-on approach to generating and interpreting data, working closely with your team as well as our engineering department to test, improve and validate new tick rearing prototypes.
