Job Description

A fantastic new opportunity has come available for a Tax Compliance Manager to one of Scotland’s prominent Legal Firms, based in Edinburgh City Centre.Joining out client’s Private Wealth and Tax team, they support clients in maintaining and growing their wealth, providing expert advice on all matters including wills and succession planning, personal tax and trusts.Please note – this role is part time, working 4 days per week.Position reports to PartnerLocation Edinburgh City CentreSalary Depending on experienceRole Purpose You will manage the Tax Compliance team whilst providing tax advice to clients.Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 3, including leave and absence
  • Carry out staff appraisals
  • Advise clients in relation to tax return, liabilities and claims and elections
  • Reviewing tax returns for individuals, trusts, charities and estates that have been prepared by the team
  • Ensure fees are raised correctly and in a timely manner
  • Work to appropriate timescales ensuring all documentation for returns are received
  • Manage all tax payments, working to ensure these are paid by clients on time
  • Ensure all tax returns and relevant forms are submitted to HMRC by relevant deadlines
Key Skills
  • Experience of leading and motivating a small team of Tax Advisors
  • Solid experience managing tax returns for individuals, trusts and charities
  • Strong advisory background, advising on tax return, liabilities etc
  • The ability to design and implement departmental procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent PC skills
