Job Description

Systems engineer, AWS, Linux, Ansible, Python, Bash, part RemoteOur global client is searching for an experienced systems engineer to join their evolutionary team. The role is based in Edinburgh, Scotland with flexible remote working hours and great company benefits. As a senior engineer you will drivingfeature upgrades, deliver applications using Linux, Windows, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python, Bash. Our client uses AWS exclusively and having a good working knowledge of building and running at scale within EC2 and RDS and beyond is ideal.The Role

  • Deliver a first-class service on our head office applications estate, using Linux, Windows, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python, Bash and Jenkins as our pipeline tool.
  • Create technical proofs of concepts, help advise on industry best practices, leveraging your experience to assist in the discovery phases and ultimately enhance our engineering team
  • Work close with junior engineers and product owners on everyday challenges
  • Assist lead and principal engineers on our longer-term technology goals
  • standardise our toolchain within the application teams and to set broader and wider goals for our technology direction and are looking for leads who can be a key part of that.
What youll bring:
  • Experience and knowledge using a mix of Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python and Bash, using Jenkin
  • understand the fundamentals of either Linux or Windows including how to support a server operationally and troubleshoot connectivity and application issues.
  • Experience in Docker and Kubernetes is desirable
  • Use expertise to effectively communicate ideas and challenge existing practices to develop systems
  • Strong experience working AWS
