As a Support Worker you will provide personalised care and support, tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each service user,promoting independenceand encouraging service users to participate in decision-making about their care and daily activities.Day-to-day duties include:

  • To provide support to customers in accordance with their requirements and preferences as expressed in their care and support plans.
  • Reporton issues such as the individuals’ progression, matters affecting their health and wellbeing, evidence on how the individual is being supported including anyactivities they have been involved in.
  • Coordinating and keeping risk assessments, care and support plans up to date.
  • Supporting customers in the development/involvement of activity programs (life skills, arts &crafts, ICT access, gardening, eco studies, baking and cooking, etc.)
  • Request, order and administermedicationin accordance with the MAR sheet.
  • Following the care and support plan in order to provide physical support to customers in their daily lives by assisting with, toileting, manual handling, meal preparation, personal care etc.)
  • To undertake any cleaning/ housework duties as and when required/needed (this activity may entail doing the laundry, ironing, doing the dishes, changing bed sheets, cleaning bathrooms, etc.)
  • (This role may include tube feeding, catheter care, Tracheotomy care procedures.)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • (UK only) experience working in a similar role.
  • SVQ preferred but not essential (support will be provided to achieve SVQ Qualification)
  • Experience documenting and administering Medication.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Fully flexible and reliable.
