Job Description

Job Role: Supervisor/ Assistant Manager - Charity AuditLocation: Edinburgh City CentreCompetitive SalaryHybrid WorkingBig enough to matter, small enough to careEstablished in 1918, our client is one of Scotlands leading independent firms of chartered accountants. They are based in Edinburgh and have 4 partners and 60 staff. They provide a range of services to organisations in a number of different sectors.Commitment and passionThe development and growth of there firm has been built on the success of their clients. In todays fast-changing environment, this approach is essential inensuring that they deliver and maintain a high-quality year-round service to all of their clients.Due to continued growth, our client is looking to strengthen their charity audit team by recruiting a motivated individual who is seeking a challenging career with opportunities to develop their own technical skills within the firm.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the partner and director in managing the delivery of the firms audit and independent examination services to charity and not-for-profit clients
  • Taking responsibility for a portfolio of clients
  • Ensuring audit fieldwork is completed to a high quality, on time and within budget
  • Preparing high quality audit documentation and financial statements
  • Supervising and coaching more junior team members
  • Developing strong client relationships
Candidates will:
  • Be a qualified CA with an appropriate level of practical experience
  • Be able to demonstrate a strong track record of managing people and workflow
  • Have excellent technical skills and be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Charities SORP (FRS 102) and an understanding of the issues facing the sector
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Have a strong work ethic and a willingness to take ownership of their work
  • Be flexible in attitude and approach to their work
  • Be a team player and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues
  • Knowledge of the charities SORP and the third sector are desirable but not essential as appropriate training will be given
