SENIOR TRIALS OFFICER PermanentLocation Flexible: Aberdeen, Ayr or Edinburgh (Bush Estate)£30,291- £35,526 per annum (under review)Ref: CML/CS/016/22SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. The Crop Trials Service undertakes research that is intended to underpin the development of resilient and sustainable systems of crop production that are economically viable,but also environmentally and socially acceptable. The postholder will primarily be responsible for the delivery of the Biomass Crop Program across three hub sites at SRUC.The main responsibilities of this post will include: coordinating and synchronising the delivery of the Biomass Trials Program within the SRUC and with the eventual sub-contractor working closely with the Service Manager and ensuring that enough resources are dedicated to the peak activities of the Biomass program performing tasks required to set up and deliver critical phases from the Biomass sites, those involving planting, assessments, harvesting, data transcription, etc communicating with Project Managers and sponsors in charge of the studies organisation and coordination of open days held on sites following sponsors requirements setting up and realising a large range of trials on cereals, potatoes, grass and OSR in collaboration with site Managers. travelling between the three main sites and liaise with local trials teamIdeally the successful candidate will have experience on trials management under GEP/GLP certification as well as hold a Certificate of Competence in use of pesticides PA1, PA2 & PA6. A BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection would be desirable as well as knowledgeon Biomass crop production.
