Job Description

A growing Edinburgh based business is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer/Technical Architect who is experienced with XML and JSON and API design technologies. In this varied role the successful candidate will be contributing to improvingthe Standards and Governance service offering and creating the blueprints and designs that some of the biggest firms within the pension, investment, and protection markets across the UK work from.The successful Senior Software Engineer/Technical Architect will be involved in the design, development, and delivery of technical artifacts, including XML Schema, JSON Schema, OpenAPI definitions and example data structures in XML and JSON; involved in thearchitectural discussions across technology road maps, existing maintenance work and ongoing improvements in line with customer requirements.The Ideal candidate will have a combination of Stakeholder management experience, tech design experience (with some of the tech listed below) and ideally within a financial settingif you have a mix or all three of these attributes then this role is for you!Technology experience required as a Senior Software Engineer/Technical Architect:

  • XML and JSON Schema design and construction.
  • Designing and delivering and APIs - Swagger / OpenAPI.
  • XSLT, XML Schema, XPath, etc.
  • Data exchange - HTTPS and sFTP
  • Process/ Data Modelling experience
