Job Description

FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Energy Project Developer for our client who specialises in clean energy development. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing new clean energy projects. The Senior Project Developer will report to the CEO. This is a permanent position, with salary circa£70,000 to£80,000 negotiable by experience plus benefits and potential for share options. Working Monday to Friday, based in Edinburgh with travel throughout the UK, with approx 1 week per month travelling for planned client visits. Responsibilities:

  • Promoting the company’s existing and new project developments and investments
  • Identifying and pursuing new investment opportunities in onshore wind, hydrogen, and other new clean energies
  • Motivating the investment mandate and monitoring and driving project developments against the agreed mandate
  • Overseeing project budgets and programmes from initial and early development stage to completed investments and exit
  • Evaluating project opportunities (including technical considerations) and proposing development strategies
  • Reporting to the CEO and board on performance and investment risk across the portfolio
  • Liaising with in-house financial analysts to assess project risks and returns
  • Liaising with external advisors to assess terms in agreements with partners, landowners, and service providers
  • Working with internal and external advisors to complete transactions and take projects through to FID
  • Supporting the CEO in relationship management including with landowners, asset owners, stakeholders in planning processes, advisors, regulators, grid, and local distribution companies
Skills and Experience required for the Senior Energy Project Development role:-
  • A keen appreciation of value drivers in the energy sector including regulation, pricing, financing, technologies, and supply lines
  • A proven track record of successful project development
  • Ability to engage at all levels with partners, advisors, regulators etc
  • knowledge of various types of energy projects and investment structures
  • 10+ years of developing and managing investment in clean energy projects
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (economics, engineering, finance)
  • Post Grad Business Degree desirable (not an essential)
