Job Description

Senior Finance Programme Manager (IFRS17)Day Rate Contract - inside IR35, £Competitive rateUK Based - Hybrid / Remote working6-12 MonthsWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior / Programme Management Lead to join our financial services client on their IFRS17 Programme.This role will involve setting the Programme strategy for delivery of outcomes and influencing the approach to delivering those outcomes. This is a senior role which requires experience of finance change, and the ability to communicate with and influencewith senior stakeholders.Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery-managing the delivery of assigned projects and initiatives and manage a number of project managers across the Programme
  • Setting personal objectives and targets. Personal investment in leading the Programme to ensure that it meets its objectives.
  • Engaging with, influencing and developing effective relationships with senior executives, project sponsors, business owners, and delivery partners.
  • Facilitating, supporting and arbitrating on project, programme and workstream issues
  • Regular and ad hoc report to governance groups, executives and key stakeholders. Presenting at communications events, briefing staff and colleagues across the Programme, Finance and Group.
  • Developing & maintaining programme and support Project Managers with development of individual project plans, securing buy-in from Business Owners and Accountable Executives.
  • Allocating, monitoring spend against, and re-allocating approved budgets across programme and constituent projects. Seeking opportunities to reduce delivery costs and deliver outcomes more efficiently.
  • Encouraging and supporting continuous improvement of the end to end delivery process and contribution to the continual improvement and performance of the IFRS17 Programme Delivery function.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:The role requires an excellent understanding of finance change programmes in a complex accounting and/or actuarial change programme, including developing accounting, actuarial and financial reporting systems to meet challenging reporting timescales.The successful candidate will possess recent and relevant experience of finance change, operational improvement and/or financial reporting experience at a Senior level within a Life and Pensions business.
  • Evidence of successful delivery of large, complex, multi-functional, cross-business programmes and projects
  • Business Process re-engineering
  • Strategic problem solving and analysis
  • Senior leadership experience and people management
  • Project and programme delivery methodologies e.g. agile, waterfall, Prince2
  • Risk Management - programme, project and operational
  • Financial reporting under IFRS standards
  • Programme office management
  • Life, pensions and industry knowledge
