They are devotedto doing the right thing by providing real help with real life.About the Senior Credit Risk Oversight Manager - Retail Mortgages :To act as the 2LoD subject matter expert on Retail Credit Risks and operate as an intrusive and intensive 2LoD risk manager.Oversight will cover all stages of the account life cycle (underwriting, ongoing account management, collections and recoveries) as well as the suitability of any 3rd parties engaged (e.g. valuers, intermediaries).Key Responsibilities of the Senior Credit Risk Oversight Manager - Retail Mortgages

  • Overall responsibility for providing independent oversight of Retail & Commercial Credit risk. Accountable for providing technical day to day challenge and guidance to shape key decision making by 1st line on Credit Risk related matters to support the deliveryof Group strategy whilst operating efficiently, within the Group’s risk capabilities & appetite and in line with Group policy.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the policy framework and risk appetite with respect to Retail & Commercial Credit Risk is appropriate, fair, consistent and aligned with regulatory guidance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Prudential Risk Oversight plan captures the most critical Retail & Commercial Credit Risks & IRB related elements through the application of specialist expertise and environmental awareness, supported by a robust risk basedassessment approach.
  • Provide expertise, guidance, review and sign off on all Retail & Commercial Credit Risk related reviews produced by the Prudential Risk Monitoring team.
  • Responsible for managing all Director-level stakeholders who are responsible across the business for Retail & Commercial Credit Risks.
Essential Skills of the Senior Credit Risk Oversight Manager - Retail Mortgages
  • Background within a risk management function in the Banking Sector.
  • Specific experience of credit risk management through all stages of the account life cycle (underwriting, ongoing account management, collections and recoveries).
  • Experience within a 2LOD position, preferable experience within oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills, in particular in translating technical concepts and facts into clear understandable management information for commercial and operational colleagues.
  • Good awareness and understanding of the relevant regulatory environment relating to IRB and broader Retail & Commercial Credit risk and experience of applying in practice.
